A week with Big Bass 3in1

I installed Big Bass 3in1 planning to give it ten minutes and move on. A week later it's still on my phone, which is more than I can say for most casual apps I test. The premise is tiny: three small fishing-themed minigames in one hub, all controlled with one thumb.

The catching mode is the one I keep returning to. Fish drift by, you tap to time your grab, and there's a nice little rhythm once you get the timing down. When that gets repetitive I slide over to the matching mode or fuss with the dock screen, and the change of pace resets my patience.

What makes it work is that nothing punishes you. There's no timer breathing down your neck and no way to properly lose. It's a game for those pockets of dead time — the elevator, the queue, the two minutes before a call. It asks nothing and gives back a small, calm bit of fun.

If you want depth, Big Bass 3in1 isn't it, and I'd never pretend otherwise. But as a friendly, low-effort tap game with a cheerful look and soft sound design, it earned its spot on my screen. Sometimes that's exactly the game you need.
