Big Bass 3in1

★★★★☆ 4.2 Editor rating

Big Bass 3in1 is one of those apps you open expecting nothing and then keep tapping for an hour. As the name says, it bundles three small fishing-themed activities under one roof, and you swap between them from a friendly hub screen. Everything is built around simple touch input — tap to cast, drag to reel, tap again to time your catch. It never asks more of you than one thumb can manage.

The first mode is a timing challenge where fish drift past and you snag them with well-placed taps. The second is a calmer sorting-and-matching game using the fish you've caught, and the third is a light management screen where you tidy up your little dock. The loop between them works surprisingly well; when one mode gets repetitive you slide to another and it feels fresh again. The art is bright and cartoonish, the sound effects are soft, and there's a gentle bubbling loop that I left on longer than I'd admit.

What won me over is how forgiving it is. There's no punishing failure state, no rush. It's a game you can play for two minutes waiting for coffee or for twenty on the couch. Load times are quick and it ran smoothly on an older phone I keep around for testing. It's not deep, but it doesn't pretend to be — it just wants you calm and mildly entertained, and it delivers that.
